WHAT’S OUR WHY?
Well... simply put... sports are expensive! They’re expensive but INTEGRAL to our small community!
Our athletic department doesn’t just teach our athletes how to handle a ball. The nature of this department is to also instill values like teamwork, conflict resolution, accountability, respect, and honesty in every student-athlete. When our athletes practice and share experiences, they build trust and lasting friendships. When they train and condition, their efforts extend beyond physical health. They are creating habits that improve mental health, reduce stress, and enhance cognitive function, all of which will benefit them long after their high school sports career. Most importantly, our coaches not only educate but also mentor students, guiding them through personal challenges and academic pressures.
WHAT’S OUR PURPOSE?
BC Backers was established to support the teams and coaches of EVERY high school sport in Bell City High School’s Athletic Department. They put in the work. We have their back.
We know about the high costs linked with sports. Our goal is to ease the financial strain on our parents and help our coaches build their programs as our community grows. We don’t need to provide the biggest and the best. We’re here to meet the needs of our programs. No sport is created equal. Some simply cost more to provide.
“Our job is to create opportunities for our sports to support each other. We want to extend each program’s message of teamwork and apply it to the whole.”
WHAT’S OUR PLAN?
Let’s provide the fundamental needs of each sport first and then work our way up. Let’s be sure to advocate “like & kind” provision rather than “dollar for dollar”.
To reach goals beyond the fundamentals, we’ll need to rely on the strength of partnerships.
By collaborating with larger corporations and philanthropic organizations, we can access resources that our local efforts alone cannot provide. While local fundraisers remain integral for community involvement, we acknowledge that we cannot meet all the needs of these children independently.
